If you require a note from your doctor for any reason, including a sick note, you will need to make an in person or telehealth appointment to speak to the doctor about this.
Doctor’s notes are not covered by MSP and there will be a fee for all notes. The fee charged will vary according to the complexity of the note required. You can see our information on uninsured services here.
“Sick notes place an unnecessary burden on the health care system, at a time when our priority is to use existing resources to help patients in need,” said Doctors of BC President Dr Kathleen Ross. “When patients come into the office to get sick notes, they are putting physicians, their staff and other patients at risk.”
